HPD Will Enforce Traffic Laws On Governor’s Drive Construction

 

Huntsville, Alabama (May 30, 2007) Huntsville Police Officers will begin enforcement of traffic laws and the speed limit on Governor’s Drive between California and Memorial Parkway. Police spokesman Wendell Johnson said the state recently changed the speed limit signs to 30 miles per hour while construction is underway on Governors Drive. There are several speed limit signs posted in both directions stating the new changes. Johnson said motorists are subject to double fines if they are cited for speeding in a construction area, when workers are present. The speed limit is still 30 mph both day and night as long as construction is ongoing. Drivers have been speeding causing safety concerns to construction workers, motorists and pedestrians
