Short Holiday Leads to Eleven DUI Arrests

 

Huntsville, Alabama (July 7, 2007) Sgt. Floyd Smith with the Huntsville Police Department’s DUI Task Force said they charged 11 people with Driving Under the Influence. Smith said the low number of arrests can be contributed to the 4^th of July falling on a Wednesday, as opposed to a long holiday weekend. Police Officers also issued 43 citations and impounded three vehicles. The checkpoints were conducted July 3^rd and 4^th.

7   - Expired/improper tags

3   - Violation of open container law

8   - No insurance

3   - Equipment Violations

1   - Running red light
