Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Living near School

 

Huntsville, Alabama (August 29, 2007) Forty-seven-year-old Toney Michael Adkins has been arrested and charged with two counts for violating the Community Notification Act. According to Investigator Kathy Pierce, Adkins had registered as a convicted sex offender from Georgia when he first arrived in Huntsville. He was convicted of Sex Abuse 2^nd degree. However, he failed to notify authorities when he moved from his Atkins Drive residence in northwest Huntsville, and moved within two-thousand feet of a school on Turf Avenue. He was living near Cavalry Hills Neighborhood Center and the Academy for Academics and Arts. Adkins was booked into the Madison County Metro Jail Tuesday night.
