Detail Nets Two Brothers for Catalytic Converter Thefts

                                  

                     Huntsville, Alabama (October 10, 2008) In recent months there has been over two-hundred catalytic converter theft cases throughout the Huntsville area, most of which have been concentrated at local salvage yards. In response to the increase in these type thefts, Investigators from the West and North Precincts teamed together to form a detail to address the problem. In the early morning of October 10, 2008, Investigators working the detail observed two males entering a hole in the fence behind COPART, a business, located at 295 Dan Tibbs Road. Officers surrounded the salvage lot and apprehended the suspects and recovered several items taken from the salvage yard. Billy Collier, 43 years-of age and Keith Collier, 41 years-of age were charged with Criminal Trespassing, Unlawful Breaking and Entering to a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Burglary Tools. Both subjects are currently in the Madison County Jail awaiting bond.
