HPD Arrest Suspect for Robberies
Huntsville, Alabama ( December 4, 2008) On December 3, 2008, Police Officers from the West Precinct were able to clear several cases of females being kidnapped and forced to withdraw money from local ATM machines. An observant citizen called in what he thought was suspicious activity that eventually led to the arrest of Jacques Laviord Pyant, 25 years-of-age, of Huntsville. Pyant was charged with 8 counts of Robbery, 6 counts of Kidnapping, and 1 count of Sodomy. The charges are a result of incidents that occurred since October 22, 2008 mostly in the areas of local apartment complexes. HPD has been working details in these areas but would like to reiterate that citizen involvement plays an important part in the police solving crimes. Pyant is currently in the Metro Jail awaiting bond.
