Major Crimes Unit Investigating Found Body as Homicide

 

Huntsville, Alabama (May 15, 2008) Investigators with the Huntsville Police Departmentís Major Crimes Unit need assistance to identify a body found March 21, 2008 in north Huntsville. Spokesman Wendell Johnson said they are treating the case as a homicide investigation. The unknown victim had been shot.

 

The decomposed remains of a male were found in a ditch located off Meridian Street, north of Winchester Road. The victim was wearing a size 34 blue jeans, brand name 30 degrees below. He had a green polo style shirt with a pocket brand name Puritan. The victim was also wearing size 10 white leather Polo brand athletic shoes.

 

According to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, the male is believed to be in his 30ís and of Hispanic and Caucasian descent. The victim is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and the current weight at the time was 122 pounds.

 

Johnson said the case is being treated as a homicide and the victim has not been identified. If anyone has information concerning this case, they should contact Investigator Michael Leftwich in Major Crimes at (256) 213-4534.
