50th Session of the Huntsville Police Academy Graduate
Huntsville, Alabama (March 5, 2010) The Huntsville Police Department is proud to announce that the graduates of the 50th Session of the Police Academy will be presented their badges and diplomas Friday afternoon. The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Huntsville High School auditorium. Mayor Tommy Battle will administer the oath for the 27 new Officers graduating from the 50th session of the Huntsville Police Academy.
Alabama Governor Bob Riley, who will serve as the guest speaker is no stranger to public service or the law enforcement community. This is the first time a Governor of the state of Alabama has come to one of our Huntsville Police Academy Graduations. The fact that Governor Riley has agreed to be our guest speaker is indicative of how special this occasion is.
Police Chief Henry Reyes states, “This is a distinct honor that the cadets of the 50th Session will always remember throughout their law enforcement career. Graduating from the 50th Session is also a very unique opportunity in that they are following in the footsteps of many great Huntsville Police Officers who have graduated from past Police Academies and served this community with honor, integrity and distinction. These cadets will join the ranks of one of the finest police departments in the nation which is something they can be very proud of “.
