National Night Out

Huntsville, Alabama (July 29, 2011) The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) has announced that the 27th Annual National Night Out (NNO) program will occur on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. The Huntsville Police Department, Huntsville Community Watch Association, Target, and Carrabba’s are hosting a National Night Out Party at the Jaycees Building located at John Hunt Park, 2151 Airport Road, from 5 p.m. till 7 p. m.  We would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in helping to make Huntsville a safer place to live. We are going to have kid events, free food, live entertainment, and a good time for all ages.

National Night Out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to: (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The local Community Watch Association is also asking citizens to turn their porch lights on from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. to show support for the neighborhood Community Watch Associations of Huntsville.
