Fraternal Order of Police To Recognize Fallen Heroes 

Huntsville, Alabama (May 12, 2006) On Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., the Fraternal Order of Police, T.L. Blakemore Lodge #6, and Madison County law enforcement agencies will present a special “Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.” The event will be held at the south side of the Madison County Court House. Alabama Attorney General Troy King will be the guest speaker as law enforcement pays tribute to their fallen comrades who have lost their lives in the line of duty dating back to 1880.

According to Huntsville Police Chief Rex Reynolds, “The purpose of this local ceremony is in conjunction with the National Law Enforcement Memorial Week. We will pay tribute to law enforcement officers and deputies who were assigned to agencies throughout Madison County, and who have given their lives in the line of duty.”

Huntsville Police Officer Daniel Golden was killed August 29^th, last summer when he responded to a domestic violence call.

Huntsville Police Lieutenant Mike Izzo, who is also Vice-President of the local F.O.P. said, “This is an important day for each of us to stop and pay our respects to those who have served the citizens of Madison County, and because they have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We hope the public will join us on this important occasion.”
