The Huntsville Police Department completed the installation of the Mobile Data Terminals in our marked units
in 2005. This equipment will provide information to our Officers at a higher rate than previous methods. AVL
was complete in 2003, which ensures that the closest,
appropriate unit is dispatched to emergencies and increases officer safety by enabling supervisors, and dispatchers to track movement and locations.
August 2006, HPD began installation of
digital in car video
equipment.
